Is there anything that takes you back to your childhood quite like stamping?

Whether it’s wooden stamps and an inkpad or stamping with potatoes, apples or any other fruit or vegetable, there is just something nostalgic about sharing this activity with your kids.

What I Used:

  • apples (cut in half)
  • foam paint brushes
  • tempera paint
  • paper plates
  • butcher’s paper

Apples are a great size for toddler/preschooler hands. Encourage them to paint the apple with their foam brush – this will help develop their fine motor skills.

Have them press the painted apple down firmly on some butcher’s paper (or other medium).

The finished product can be used for wrapping paper, hung on the fridge, or even framed.

Some other fresh produce you might like to try are:

  • Celery (either singular or the bottom of the bunch)
  • Potatoes
  • Pears
  • Sweet Potatoes/Yams
  • Spinach/Silverbeet leaves
